A genuine success story has followed, since the registered trademark « Pomme Prisonnière » is now considered as a generic name. The apple grows inside the carafe which is attached to the apple tree. Succeeding in growing fruit in this manner is a delicate operation requiring great skill and command. When the apple is ripe, the carafe is removed from the tree and filled with Calvados.
